The second round ticket of the 2017 BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier was also achieved by other Indonesian mixed doubles, Alfian Eko Prasetya / Annisa Saufika.

They are qualified for the second round after in the first round on Tuesday (13/6) after beating Kenta Kazuno / Ayane Kurihara (Japan) with 21-14 and 21-18.

This victory makes Alfian / Annisa who are targeting a better result than last year, which was quarter final, grateful.

Winning easily in the first game, Alfian / Annisa got a fierce resistance in the next game. As the scores were not poles apart, both sides were playing cautiously and avoiding blunders which would give their opponents advantage.

"We were confused in the beginning when the opponent started lifting the ball, but we tried to keep controlling the game," said Alfian.

"The female player was pretty good at blocking the shot. Frankly, we were worried in the second game that our points would overtake by our opponents, but we were pushing for one point at a time, then we could finally win," he added.

"Last year we could go to the big eight, this year we hopefully can get a better result," said Alfian.

In the second round, Alfian / Annisa will be taking on a British couple both in and out the pitch, Chris Adcock / Gabrielle Adcock. Alfian said they would be aware of the no lob of Duo Adcock.
