The 2017 Indonesia Open 2017 is within sight. The international badminton event has been held since 1982. There have been some cities hosting the events. Djarum Badminton team has summarized the events in the following article.

1. Jakarta

Jakarta became the largest city hosting the Indonesia Open event. The Indonesia's capital city became the organizer of the Indonesia Open in 1982 - 1989, 1993, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2004- present. The events' venue is located at Istora Senayan.

However, the Indonesia Open will not be held at Istora Senayan this years due to Istora's renovation for the 2018 Asian Games. Instead, the Indonesia Open will be held at Plenary Hall, Jakarta Convention Center this year.

2. Samarinda, East Kalimantan

The 1990 Indonesia Open was held in Segiri Sports Stadium, Samarinda on July 18-22 1990. Indonesia won two titles in the men's singles; Ardy Wiranata and the mixed doubles Gunawan / Rosiana Tendean. The total prize contested in this event was US $ 135,000.

3. Bandung, West Java

The Indonesia Open 1991 was held in Bandung on July 10-14, 1991. Indonesia won two titles in the men's singles from Ardy Wiranata and in the women's singles from the legendary Susi Susanti. The total prize contested in this event was US $ 135,000.

4. Semarang, Central Java

The 1992 Indonesia Open was held in Jatidiri Sports Stadium, Semarang on September 16-20, 1992. Indonesia won three titles in the men's singles from Ardy Wiranata, in the men's doubles from Edi Hartono / Rudy Gunawan and Rosiana Tendean / Erma Sulistianingsih. The total prize contested in this event was US $ 166,000.

5. Yogyakarta

The 1994 Indonesia Open was held in Among Rogo Sports Stadium, Yogyakarta on August 8-14, 1994. 6. Surakarta, Central Java

The 1997 Indonesia Open was held in Surakarta on July 16-20, 1997. 7. Denpasar, Bali

8. Surabaya, East Java
