Indonesian Badminton men’s doubles pair, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon will be Indonesia’s most favorite representative to win Blibli Indonesia Open 2018 that will be held from 3 to 8 July 2018 in Istora Senayan, Jakarta.

To date, Kevin/Marcus is still any men’s doubles pair’s worst nightmare. The pair is currently sitting on the world’ No. 1 rank and they have never lost any game since China Open 2017 until the recent Thomas Cup 2018 qualifying round.

Kevin/Marcus sweep all possible titles from their last five tournaments in which they are involved in, namely China Open Superseries Premier 2017, Hongkong Open Superseries 2017, Dubai Final Superseries 2017, Daihatsu Indonesia Masters 2018 and All England 2018.

Seven titles were won by “the Minions”, Kevin/marcus’s nickname, throughout 2017. These achievements strengthened their position as the world’s No. 1 and certainly fans at home and coming to Istora have high hopes for Kevin/Marcus this year.

All these things will certainly trigger other players to play better to beat them, namely Kevin/Marcus’s rival Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen. The match between these two has always been interesting to watch, the unique actions and gimmicks between these four players on the arena will definitely be awaited by all, especially the fans of Kevin/Marcus. Last Year, Kevin’s injury stopped them from progressing further than the first round in BCA Indonesia Open 2017.

Not only Boe/Mogensen, threat will also come from the 2017 World Champion, Zhang Nan/Liu Cheng.

Despite the fact that the last two meetings have always been won by Kevin/Marcus, it is expected that Zhang/Liu would put their best effort to bring home this year’s Indonesia Open title.

BCA Indonesia Open 2017 Men’s doubles was won by Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen from China. The pair lost six consecutive times playing against Kevin/Marcus, but they performed well in Thomas Cup 2018. The pair played an important role as the title-decider pair on the Thomas Cup 2018 final game against Japan.

Five Indonesia men’s doubles pairs will be playing in Istora, putting their best effort playing in front of the home fans. Other than Kevin/Marcus, the other pairs playing are Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan, Berry Angriawan/Hardianto, Wahyu Nayaka Arya Pankaryanira/Ade Yusuf Santoso, and the unexpected pair, Angga Pratama/Ricky Karanda Suwardi.
