Jakarta | Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto has to accept the fact that they are knocked out of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 after they are beaten by the Japanese pair, Takuro Hoki/Yugi Kobayashi. Playing in Istora Senayan, Jakarta on Friday (19/7), Fajar/Rian was forced to surrender in a two-set match of 19-21 and 12-21.

Muhammad Rian Ardianto claims that the bitter that he felt from today’s result was not in line with their expectations. “Today we didn’t play as we expect it to be. On the other hand, the opponent performed very well and they were ready to anticipate all of our plays. We were a bit troubled to switch our own plays. On top of that, we made so many unforced errors,” said Rian after the match.

Similar comment was stated by Fajar Alfian. The PB SGS PLN Bandung alumnus claims that he feels disappointed as he cannot make it to the semifinal of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000.

“In the first set we made many unforced errors and in the second set we were kept under the pressure. The opponent was very consistent and excellent today. Certainly I’m disappointed as this is not line with our hope. What’s important is that we are not satisfied with today’s result,” said Fajar.

Furthermore, Fajar hopes that they can get rid of their weaknesses and all kinds of error that they made in today’s match and they can play better next time. “The evaluation from the match today is that whenever we were kept under the pressure we have to be able to switch our plays quickly,” he added.

With Fajar/Rian falling out of the tournament in the Round of 8, this means that Indonesia is sending only two representatives to the semifinal of Blbli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 through Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan.
