Jakarta | The Indonesian Women’s Doubles pair, Nadiya Melati/Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah has successfully secured a win in the first match of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000 after beating the Canada Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 100 from Australia, Gronya Sommerville/Setyana Mapasa through a two-set match of 21-15 and 22-20 during the match that was held in Istora Senayan, Jakarta on Tuesday (16/7).

“It was very exciting! Although I may have missed several court coverage moments. Technique-wise there was no problem as we have prepared for this since a long time ago. There was a tight moment during the second set as we had slowed our plays earlier. Of course I’m very happy to have made it past the first round,” said Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah to Djarumbadminton.com.

Being through to the Round of 16 of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000, Nadiya/Tiara will immediately play against the World’s No. 1 from Japan, Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara. Certainly Nadiya/Tiara will have to play all-out if they want to beat the first seeded pair. “For tomorrow I think we have to be ready to get weary,” She said.

On the other hand, Nadiya Melati claimed that she feels very happy to be able to play in front of the thousands of spectators of Istora and made it past the first round through a two-set match. “Everyone that plays here must be very happy, including us. Moreover, we are the host, we want to show the best and what matter is that we have to show our endurance,” Nadiya said.

Although unseeded, the Women’s Doubles players who have just been paired warly in 2019 are able to play with confident and self-belief. Moreover, Nadiya claimed that she sets her own target to not lose in Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000. “Our target here is to not lose. We strive for the best result,” she added.
