Jakarta | Two weeks before the start of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000, that will be held in Istora Senayan Jakarta from 16 to 21 July 2019, Indonesia’s Mixed Doubles team that are trained by Richard Mainaky continue to finalize their preparation for the tournament, by especially sharpening their power and speed.

“The trainings are now focused on how to strengthen the power of the Men’s players and to sharpen the Women’s players speed,” said Richard Mainaky, the head coach for PBSI’s Mixed doubles team as quoted from Badmintonindonesia.org.

Indonesia’s Mixed Doubles team sends six pairs to compete in the tournament that will reward the winner to a total sum of USD 1.250.000. Hafiz Faizal/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, Tontowi Ahmad/Winny Oktavina Kandow, Alfian Eko Prasetya/Marsheilla Gischa Islami, Ronald Alexander/Annisa Saufika and Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari are hoped to grab the best result out of this tournament.

On the other hand, two of Indonesia’s Mixed Doubles pairs have to accept an unfortunate result of the drawing as Hafiz/Gloria and Rinov/Phita have to see each other for the first round match of Blibli Indonesia Open 2019 BWF World Tour Super 1000. Meanwhile, Ronald/Annisa will face the world’s No. 5 Mixed Doubles pair from Malaysia, Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying.

“No problem, we are all well-prepared, we are ready to face anyone, and it’s a risk. Moreover, we are sending 6 players for this tournament; there is a high possibility of any of these players to see each other. For those who will face the better seeded player, I think that’s the consequence of a drawing,” He said.

“Speaking about the target, I am more focused on a longer-term target, which is to send two Indonesian Mixed Doubles pairs to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. About the other tournaments, we are definitely chasing for all those possible title there is, that’s why I remind my players to keep on challenging those title,” He added.
