Malaysia's new mixed doubles duet, Chan Peng Soon/Yen Wei Peck, had to stop in the hands of Indonesia's number one pair, Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir, in the semi-final round of BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2017 last night, Saturday (17/6).

They lost two in straight games with 21-13 and 21-14 in 39 minutes. However, with this achievement, Chen's performance who previously was paired with Goh Liu Ying is quite unexpected.

"My partner and I have no specific target, and I just want to test our ability in facing world's top players, and we could reach the semifinal, a very good achievement in my opinion," said Chan after the game.

"I think my partner's performance has been very good at the tournament, I should appreciate him. I do not know whether we will be paired again in the future," said Chan.

Meanwhile, Yen admitted he was trembling because that was his first time to reach semi-final in the Superseries Premier tournament.

"A little trembled at the beginning of the first game because that was the first time I reach Superseries Premier semifinal, probably because the opponent is the home team," Yen said.
