Fajar/Rian performed aggressively since the beginning of the match. They seemed to trouble their opponent with a direct attack while at the same time they defended meanly. Fajar regretted that they were defeated in the second set.
"The match should have been won in two sets but we applied the wrong strategy, instead of attacking more, we played defensively," Fajar said after the match.
In the semifinal tomorrow, Fajar/Rian will take on Danish second seed, Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen. At the 2017 India Open, the match was won by the Danish pair.
"We personally aimed for semifinal but we want to go beyond the target since we are in the semifinal already, we want to fight all out. With the other men's doubles' defeats, we are motivated to carry their roles and to survive in the last stages," said Fajar.
"We also lost from the Danish pair, we have many lessons to learn from yesterday's defeat. They are senior players and they have a lot of experience. We have to be more patient, stronger, more enjoy, and anticipated the exhaustment," Fajar concluded.
