Kento Momota has grabbed a precious ticket to the BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier (BIO) 2015 final after ousting Kasyhap Parupalli and sending the Indian home, 12-21, 21-17 and 21-19 in the semifnal today, Saturday (6/6).

Having been stunned in the first set, Momota admitted he was exhausted but he refused to surrender and kept on fighting which led him to victory. Especially in the second set when he saw Parupalli was also exhausted so he tried a strategy by not giving overhead and playing more closely to the net.

"I was lucky today,” said Momota after the match at the Senayan sports arena.

Momota asked Indonesian fans to support him today. But it turned out he wasn’t receiving a full support in the first and the second game. "The first and the second set I didn’t get much support from the crowd. But in the third set, I had an astonishing support,” Momota said.

Meanwhile, the Men’s Singles coach who also trains Momota, Keita Masuda, said there has been no special treatment given to Momota. Masuda admitted Momota has a good smash and net play.

"He is a bit different from the other Japanese players. In training, I always give him motivation and encourage him psychologically. Not only in technical aspects but also fighting spirit when playing,” he explained.

Momota will take on a winner between Jan O Jorgansen from Denmark and Marc Zwiebler from Germany which will be held tonight.
