This is true when the jubilant crowd was surprised by an epic performance displayed by Anthony Sinisuka Ginting in stunning the Indian fourth seeded Srikanth K in a three set match, 14-21, 22-20 dan 21-13. The stadium was again roaring when a young men's singles shuttler, Jonatan Christie, scored an upset by forcing South Korean Lee Hyun Il to bow out.
Jonatan secured his victory over Lee in a two straight game, 21-17 dan 21-19. "I performed better than yesterday because I had more control. And I am not sure why, I state this again that the result is also affected by the crowd support. I saw my opponent made mistakes due to his being nervous, many times his shuttles stocked on the net, and many of them were awkward," Jonatan said after the match.
"I won the match because I was motivated by Anthony's success, I ddidn't want to be left behind by Anthony," he said.
Behind the 18 year old shuttler's success in the second round of Indonesia Open Super Series Premier 2015, their seniors and mainstays failed to achieve success after defeats they suffered in the second round.
They are Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka who stunned by Danish third seeded Jan O Jorgensen with 21-12, 14-21 and 21-14. And Tommy Sugiarto, he couldn't handle Marc Zwiebler and lost in a three game match, 16-21, 22-20 and 21-19.
In the quarter final held tomorrow Friday (5/6), Jonatan will take on Jan O Jorgensen.
"Tomorrow, I will fight Jan, taking a closer look at his style, in my opinion his strokes are pretty average and I am sure I can handle him. But of course he is a experience-rich player, so I shall not underestimate him. Hoping to gain the crowd support, I will able to play better than today," he said.
