Playing on home ground, Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir 'avanged' their previous defeat from Lee Chun Hei Reginal/Chau Hoi Wah in Australia at BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier (BIO) 2015. The Indonesian first seeded mixed doubles pair stunned Hong Kong pair in a two set game, 26-24, 21-14, Tuesday (2/6).

Not too long ago, Owi/Butet were crushed by Chun Hei Reginal/Hoi Wah at Australia Open Super Series semifinal last week. Owi/Butet had their momentum this time in fornt of the crowd at Istora.

"Last week we lost because we were losing our focus. Despite the rubber lost, we simply call it that it was their day," Butet said at a press conference after the match.

The victory continues their positive head to head record with Chun Hei Reginal/Hoi Wah with convincing 4-1.

Expected to win the title, Owi stated his being overwhelmed. Thus, he tries to enjoy each match he has so that the set target can be achieved.

"We anticipate it by playing step by step. We don't want to think too much about the final. Learning from previous experience, we don't want to be in a rush in the beginning, we want to be able to enjoy and relax," Owi added.

In the forthcoming second round, the third seeded Owi/Butet will face Japan's Kenichi Hayakawa/Misaki Matsutomo who have stunned Roland Alexander/Melati Daeva Oktaviani in a three set game, 21-18, 17-21 and 21-10.

"Typical Japanese style [of playing] is resilient and persistent. They have the fighting spirit and are able to maintain their eagerness although losing points. So despite of we are theoretically better, we shall not be careless," Butet added.
