It is very unfortunate, Simon Santoso will not participate in Djarum Indonesia Open Super Series Premier (DIOSSP) 2013 tournament.

The ijnury is likely to be the culprit. Thus, Simon fails to defend his title.

The confirmation rceived just one day before the D-day of the tournament held at Senayan stadium, Sunday (9/6). The men's singles coach, Joko Suprianto, informed the announcement during a technical meeting.

"Since Thursday last week, Simon complained that he felt pain in his
back. According to medical examination, Simon is not having any bone fractures. However, practicing at Senayan stadium just before the tourney begins, he stated he could not continue and was unable to force himself," Joko explained.

The absence of Simon means to reduce the quota of men's singles
players in Red-White squad. The remaining players are Taufik Hidayat,

Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka, Alamsyah Yunus, Sony Dwi Kuncoro, Tommy

Sugiarto, Riyanto Subagja, Andre Kurniawan, Tedjono and Wisnu Yuli
Prasetyo.

Sony has just recovered from injury. I can't put a high expectation on
his shoulder. Indonesia Open is his first tournament after having been
absent for three month," Joko added.

Based on the decision, Simon fails to defend his last year's title in
the Djarum Indonesia Open Super Series Premier 2012. Indonesia is now
waiting for a Simon's replacement to win the title.
