Chong Wei won his sixth BCA Indonesia Open Super Series Premier 2016 after defeating Jan O Jorgensen from Denmark with 17-21, 21-19, 21-17. So far, the Malaysian player has collected titles from Indonesia Open in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013. Meanwhile, Taufik became the champion at Indonesia Open in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006.

The same record is achieved by Ardy B Wiranata in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995 and 1997, and women's singles legend, Susy Susanti, in 1989, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997.

“I am very pleased to win my sixth Indonesia Open title. Today Jorgensen played very well, I was just trying to focus, I played calmly in the beginning of the match and I was doing not so good,” said Lee, the Malaysian best men's single player.

“Jorgensen played far better than he did in the previous match. I defeated him in Malaysia (Open). Now I will leave for Australia, I hope next year I will be able to return to Indonesia and maintain my performance," said a player who is also called as Datok.
