Commenting about his failure, the 18 year old player admitted that his strategy applied didn't go well on the court.
"The first time prior to stepping in to the court, I had managed my strategy to play offensively and playing a bit forward. But it didn't go too well during the match, my net play was awkward," Jonatan confessed.
"The second game, the opponent's morale was high. The roaring fans supporting me didn't scare him, instead, he was getting more aggressive," added Jonatan.
Although halted in the quarter final, Jonatan said, he is quite proud of his achievement at the US$800,000 prize tournament.
"Although defeated in the quarter final, I am proud of being able to reach the round. My initial target was only qualified for the main round. Next, I am concentrating for Sea Games," he concluded.
In the men's singles sector, Indonesia still has hopes through Anthony Sinisuka Ginting who will fight a match this evening against Japanese Kento Momota.
"Hopefully Anthony can advance to the next round and score upsets," Jonatan motivated.
