Malaysia's top seed Lee Chong Wei is still too tough for Tommy Sugiarto. Of their 15 meetings, not a single defeat could Tommy inflict to Chong Wei. This time at the BCA Indonesia Superseries Open 2017, Tommy still has not been able to conquer his Malaysian opponent.

Playing in the pitch number two, JCC Plenary Hall, Jakarta, Tommy managed to have a chance. In the first game, Tommy managed to achieve victory without difficulty. He won 21-13.

"In the first game, I was benefited by the pitch because it is so comfortable for me to control the game," said Tommy.

But in the second game, Tommy was helpless and it led to an additional set. Tommy lost 10-21. Even entering the third game, Tommy briefly led 17-13, but luck was not on his side. Tommy lost at the minute '62 a tight outcome of 18-21.

"It was Chong Wei who took controls of me in the second game. I vowed to win in the third game but I could not make use of my leading moment. Chong Wei is a experience rich player who has good quality. Although I have never won, I will try to play better in the future," concluded Tommy.
