The 2016 Rio de Jenairo Olympic said although they won in two games, the famous Malaysian pair is not easy to defeat.
“We are grateful we can go to semifinal, it was not easy. Since the first and the second game, we were left behind, but it did not make us down, we were anticipative and staying focus before finally winning the match," Liliyana said.
During the match, Liliyana fell down when the points were equal in the second game. But she said she didn't hurt.
“My knees are safe. I was often shocked but it is not a problem. I don't want to think about knees, I'd better focus, before the point reaching 21, I didn't want to give up,” said Liliyana.
Meanwhile, Tontowi played more calmly and confidently.
“I focused on me, played calmly and confidently. I didn't want my mind to wander, it was important to put the shuttlecock in, and it was proven I could do it,” Tontowi ended.
In the semifinal on Saturday (17/6), Tontowi/Liliyana will take on another Malaysian pair, Chan Peng Soon/Yen Wei Peck
