With the result, two Indonesian men's doubles pairs go to the main round, after in the previous match, Alamsyah Yunus also assured a ticket to the main round by defeating Prannoy H.S (India) with two straight games, 22-20, 22-20.
Unfortunately, Wisnu and Alamsyah's success couldn't be achieved by Andre Kurniawan Tedjono who was halted in the qualifying round after defeated by Chen Yuekun (China), 15-21, 7-21. Wisnu and Alamsyah join their compatriots in the main round;Tommy Sugiarto, Simon Santoso, Sony Dwi Kuncoro and Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka.
"In the second game, I was a little bit overwhelmed due to switching side. In the next game, I tried to get back to the track and to focus, I thought it is okay to be left behind for now, the most important thing is concentrating to catch up. The opponent was not really special, but he is persistent and tough," said Wisnu.
Meanwhile, Alamsyah who has encountered Prannoy for several times, has spotted his opponent's strength and weakness. "He has a good offensive although doesn't last long. I will try to play short rallies so he can't do much in attacking," Alamsyah explained.
"The fans support at the stadium really means a lot to boost my spirit," he added.
In the main round, Alamsyah will take on Sho Sasaki (Japan). Both players have not met before. According to Alamsyah, Sasaki has a thorough style of playing by depending on defense; various ball positioning and safer style. He also said he is ready to play rallies. Meanwhile, Wisnu will take on Rajiv Ouseph from England. Wisnu stresses on focus concentration in playing against Rajiv.
