In the first match, Young Dae admitted he was still struggling to adapt to court conditions. However, he performed amazingly.
"It's my first game and I have not been able to familiarize well. I hope tomorrow I can be more well prepared for the next game and win," said Young Dae after the match in Senayan, Jakarta.
The support from the Indonesian crowds always mean something for Young Dae whenever he performs in Indonesia and it becomes inspiration for the Korean player to win.
Unfortunately, Seung Chan didn't share the same vision. He has this Dae Young's big name pressure when playing side by side with Dae Young on the court.
Playing both doubles and singles revealsed young Dae's other missions. It is said that the player who is going to take part at di Asian Games 2014 in next September makes this event to be his training sessions apart from his primary objective in men's doubles.
"I am not a mixed doubles athlete. But this is as well giving me more opportunities to practice and enhance my training," he said.
In the second half, Young Dae will wait the winner between top seed from China, Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei or Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Greysia Polii who will contest on Wednesday (18/6).
"There is no problem, it is solved. I can go back to prepare myself for the next events, the Asian Games 2014," he said.
Regarding the sanction of a doping case which dragged him some time ago, Young Dae said it was not a burden and pressure. In the end, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) revised the sanction and allowed him to participate many major badminton events, including the Asian Games where South Korea is the organizer.
"It's no problem. Exercises I could go back again as usual and continue preparations for the next event, the 2014 Asian Games," he said.
