Zheng/Chen Secured A Place in Final

China's first seed mixed doubles, Zheng Siwei/Chen Qingchen, secured a ticket to the final round of the BCA Indonesia Superseries Premier Open 2017 after in the semi-final match, Saturday afternoon (17/6) managed to defeat their compatriot, Liu Yuchen/Tang Jinhua.

Played at Plenary Hall, Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), it was not easy for the first seeded pair to stop Liu/Tang. Successfully won the first game, 21-10, they received heavy pressure although they led, 18-13.

Rushing, Zheng/Chen had difficulty to develop their game. As a result, they lost the second in a setting duel, 21-23. Entering the ultimate set, Zheng/Chen gained more confidence. In the 53rd minute, Zheng/Chen ended the fight with a win. They ended the third game with victory, 21-16.

"The match was quite fierce. In the second game, we had led but the opponent could catch up. But in the third game, we could win meet our target," Chen said.

Advancing to the final round on Sunday (18/6) tomorrow, Zheng/Chen are still waiting for the winner between Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir from Indonesia who tonight will take on Chan Peng Soon/Yen Wei Peck from Malaysia.
