A quarter-final ticket of BCA Indonesia Open Superseries Premier 2017 has been secured by an Indonesia's mixed doubles pair and the world's 9th mixed doubles, Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir.

They qualified for the last eight that ended on Friday morning (15/6) after defeating their compatriots, Hafiz Faizal/ Shela Devi Aulia, with a convincing two straight games 21-17 and 22-20.

"We are aware of each other's style during that match, the strengths and weaknesses. They played well and it was very difficult for us to tame their defense. We were left in the the beginning of the second game, but we were finally able to win the game match," Owi said after the game.

In the quarter-final match, Owi/Butet will be challenged by a Malaysian pair, Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing. Tomorrow's meeting is the first for both sides.

"Hopefully tomorrow we can perform better, and firstly we will study the game. They are the world's number one at the moment, so we still have to focus because it is getting harder now to fight a match (at this stage)," said Butet.
